locations so we can get to know you as well!
Arizona Machinery, founded in 1947 by Fred Elder and Jim Dedrick, began as the John Deere and Caterpillar dealer for most of the state of Arizona. In 1959, Elder and Dedrick parted ways. Dedrick kept the Caterpillar dealership, while Elder retained the John Deere franchise for agricultural and industrial equipment in Maricopa County. This company of Elder's continued the growth it had begun in the 1940's, and built a reputation for unbeatable parts and service to match the quality of its John Deere products. In 1968, the industrial line was split off, and Arizona Machinery focused its efforts solely on the agricultural market of Maricopa County.
In 1975, Ferenc Rosztoczy, Fred Elder's son-in-law, took over management of the company. He presided over record years for Arizona Machinery, thanks, in part, to the boom in the cotton industry. Looking for new opportunities for growth, Arizona Machinery began investing in real estate and established Stotz Farms in 1979. In 1981, Stotz Dairy began milking and is considered one of the top dairies in Arizona. Stotz Farms, with the majority of the real estate and the dairy, was spun off as a separate entity in 1985.
The late 1970's also saw expansive urban and resort growth in the Valley of the Sun. To meet these new demands, the company got involved in the John Deere consumer products line in 1979. The business has flourished largely due to the company's continuing effort to provide top quality parts and service to all its customers.
In 1986, John Deere rewarded Arizona Machinery's quality performance with one of the nation's first golf and turf distributorships. To round out the product lines, select allied goods are carried which must satisfy the same high standards for product quality, parts, and technical support expected of John Deere.
Three stores, located in Avondale, Buckeye, and Chandler are the base from which Arizona Machinery serves central and northern Arizona. This network of facilities and personnel is aggressively pursuing inroads into agricultural and lawn and grounds care markets in Maricopa County and golf/turf markets throughout Arizona, continuing the tradition of excellence in technical support and customer satisfaction.
Recent honors for the company include being recognized as a John Deere Signature Dealer for four years running. The consumer products portion of the business was ranked in the top 5 nationally by John Deere, and the golf and turf division is currently ranked #1 in the United States.
